No-one expected internet shopping to take off like a rocket, especially for luxury goods when you want to be pampered by a boutique environment. But the cash-rich time-poor generation said yes please to buying online and found what they need in a site like Reglisse. The launch at Blakes Hotel in July 2006 said it all. Reglisse is polished, sophisticated and smart. There's a whole range of luxury gifts for men, women and the home. They arrive in a chic white box wrapped in black ribbon with reliable delivery - often same day within London. This autumn the site has a range of new jewellery collections, all exclusive to Reglisse. Some pieces are flamboyant and exotic but others, shown opposite, are elegant enough to wear at work and pretty enough for gifts. www.reglisse.co.uk

A woman's never-ending search to find trousers that fit has just got easier. Harrods has a made-to-measure service called Bodymetrics where they measure you electronically to find out all your secret lumps and bumps. They can even detect what you laughingly call your waist. The trousers will fit properly (hooray) and you can have them made in different lengths to accommodate flat shoes or dominatrix stilettos. Call Harrods on 020 7730 1234.
Emperor Moth is a new no-expense-spared boutique for women and children in Mount Street, currently Mayfair's most fashionable thoroughfare. It's owned by Russians to showcase designer Katia Gomiashvili and it is unlike anything you have seen before. The glittering fairyland interior on two levels has been designed by Ab Rogers (son of British architect Richard) as the perfect foil for clothes that owe more to the dressing up box than the working week. They are utterly magical in bright colours decorated with jewels, gauzy fabrics, hardly-there lingerie and beachwear, and dramatic film-star shades. The website features two recent ad campaigns featuring top models Devon Aoki and Kate Moss (they don't come cheap), and user-friendly opening times: 11am -7pm Monday - Saturday and 12noon -5pm on Sundays. 93 Mount Street, London W1, 020 7409 2611; www.emperormoth.com
